How it works

How it works

Most business owners dread a website project: vague quotes, things costing more than agreed, and an agency that stops picking up the phone after launch. With me you know exactly where you stand from the first conversation — what you get, what it costs, and what's expected of you. One clear price, one agreement, no surprises afterwards.

The steps

The times below are a guideline for a business site. If your site is larger or smaller, we settle that in the conversation.

  1. Intro & plan

We schedule an hour and we take that hour. I come with a list of questions: what do you do, who are your customers, and what should your site deliver? More calls, bookings or enquiries? That way we have concrete points to work with straight away. I don't think in terms of ‘a website’, but in what you want to achieve with it. By the end of that conversation you know what it costs and how we'll approach it.

  2. You supply

Your text, photos and logo. You know your trade and your customers best, so those words come from you; I think along on the structure. No good photos yet? We sort that out together first, because real images of your business sell better than stock photos. Take your time over this. I start as soon as everything is in.

  3. I build

Now I get to work. After about a week you get to see a first version, so you don't have to wait until everything is finished. Technology, speed, mobile display and findability are in there from the start. Not an afterthought, but the foundation.

  4. We go through it together

We schedule a moment and go through the site together: what works, what's missing, what you want different. After that I process your feedback, usually within a few days. Two revision rounds are in the price, so no invoice by the hour for every change.

  5. Live

As soon as you give the go-ahead, your site is online within a day. I make sure everything is technically right, including that your email simply keeps working. That's where it often goes wrong elsewhere; with me it's a fixed part of the job. Your domain stays entirely yours, and you don't have to do anything technical.

  6. Afterwards

A site isn't finished at launch. I keep it online, secure and up to date, and you choose how much maintenance you want alongside it. You never have to worry about the technology; I'm your fixed point of contact.

Who does what

In short: the technology is mine, your business stays yours.

What I need from you

Your text, photos and logo · a domain name in your own name, I'll help you choose · start your Google Business Profile early, because verification takes a few days · your feedback in the two rounds · one point of contact on your side, that works fastest.

What stays yours

Your domain, in your own name · your email, which simply keeps working · your Google Business Profile with your opening hours and reviews · your text and photos · and the site itself. If you ever stop, you take it with you. You're not tied to anything.
